JSP went great…

One of the highlights of high school life is the Juniors Seniors Promenade, and many would agree with this opinion. We have only two chances of attending such occasion, so no doubt that everyone who would want to join, really prepares.

Before the JSP, I was informed that I will join the cotillion dance. I was so surprised that I even asked why did they choose me - a person who doesn’t know how to dance? Then they answered me that they would choose the SSG officers.

Morning of February 15, we still went to our campus to practise for the cotillion. And right after this, I went home and prepared for the JSP. I went back to school around 4:30 and I felt conscious because of my dress. Luckily, I saw Natalia and Alona, so I went with them. When we reached the gymnasium, there were already many seniors and juniors dancing. I sat on the front row because there were no available chairs at the back. I looked at all the corners of the gymnasium and observed all the participants. The ladies were very beautiful and almost all the guys looked so formal. I also looked at those who were dancing and I had noticed that they were enjoying the event.

Suddenly, someone told us (participants of the cotillion) to prepare for the dance. I felt nervous and I told this to Susana and Adelyn. They then comforted me by saying that it would be all right, and I would just walk the normal way.

During the cotillion, I heard someone saying that the dance was not organize. I felt a bit disappointed, but I knew that his or her opinion was true/right. I really felt relieved when the dance ended.

We didn’t notice the time because we were enjoying the occasion, until they announced that there would be only 6 more dances.

Everyone was waiting for the “ladies’ choice”, and when it was given, many ladies went to get a partner to dance with.

In general, the JSP went great, and everyone really enjoyed the event.

I have made a movie…

In our computer class, ma’am asked us to make a movie using the Windows Movie Maker. The first activity was a group project and the objective was to make a doxology. Ma’am was discussing about the movie maker and the steps, while we were doing the hands -on. But we weren’t able to finish it because we didn’t have enough time.

Then ma’am gave another activity, and this was to make a movie using our pictures. Fortunately, ma’am said that we may not continue the first activity, and we would just concentrate on the second one. The problem I encountered from this work was I didn’t have any picture to import. Fortunately, around 4 days before the submission/presentation of project, I was able to have the pictures I need. I did my best in doing that project, and I was so happy when I finally saved it.

But when I opened my project, x’s came out instead of pictures. Then ma’am shared to the class the proper way of saving the project. Finally, I was able to save my project…I was able to make a movie. And I’m very proud of my work.

I know that many activities will still come, and I will try my best to do those works so that I may produce better outputs.

This 3rd quarter...

This 3rd Quarter, there were many activities that happened here in our school. First was the Intramurals, next was the General Christmas program, and then the Christmas Program in every section.

Also this period, we made many activities in our computer class. And let me share these to you…
We had discussed HTML links. Here, we had searched images and informations about a topic and then placed them to our activity. And really, this activity was hard because we did search all of these in the internet then linked them together. And we consumed much time doing it. Patience was really needed to finish this activity. But still, it was fun because we had discovered how to apply hyperlink, (allows user to jump easily from one document to another).


Also this quarter, Ma’am Vera Cruz introduced/discussed to us the Windows Movie Maker. This is a program/software wherein you can create a movie.The problem is, there is no sufficient pictures, videos, and other files in the computer needed for our activity. But ma’am said we can copy files from devices, and we can also download files from the internet (fortunately, there is a solution to this problem).


Many activities are not yet finish, and many will still come. So moving on, I will concentrate in doing these so that I may have a better output. And I will also listen to whatever tips and topics ma’am will discuss or share to us…

-=New Learnings=-
I have learned from the activities we did in our computer class, all about the Hypertext Mark up Language (HTML). The html tags, html elements, how does it work, and how important html is.
I learned from the activities all about text alignment, heading tags, stand alone tags, text formatting tags, performatted text, font attributes, body color and body background.

-=Problems/Challenges=-
The challenge in doing the activities was, we must observe the proper text/s or tag/s to type, because if we will miss to type or enter an important tag/text, the output will be wrong.

-=How did I address the challenge=-
Being careful in typing, was the key to make a great output. And fortunately, I was able to finish the given activities.

...try not to commit many errors, so that I will be able to produce better outputs.

it's wrong...

We the fourth year students were assigned to take the periodical test in the afternoon, so I used the morning time in reviewing. But I had to review 4 subjects including computer. So I divided my time and I review each subject in an hour. I was cramming, so I wasn't able to really memorize the acronyms in our computer subject. Then we answered the P.T. questionnaires for our computer subject, but unfortunately I forgot almost all of the acronyms. I interchanged some words and left some numbers unanswered. I was regreting, and telling myself I should hace given more time reviewing the subjects. And as what expected, when we checked our answers, I got a low score...

After typing my second blog, I had met a problem. My classmates who linked me in their blogs can't open it. I was so busy the following days, so I wasn't able to focus on it. Then one day, Paul announced/called some names and said we must go to Ma'am Vera Cruz. I had an idea why did ma'am call for us. And I was right. She can't able/ wasn't able to open our blogs. I opened my blog to another computer, and there we saw what was wrong, or why they cannot open my blog. The e-mail address I gave was wrong. My real e-mail address is "myleneramorosoyahoocom", and we were all laughing at it.

My experiences these past few weeks =>

We attended the 2-day seminar of the Red Cross. It was done last July 16 and 17, 2007. The training was fun, and I really got much informations I can apply or use.

July is also the Nutrition Month celebration, and the TLE department sponsored a food festival. We joined the said activity and we the fourth year students were assigned last July 19, and all year levels last July 20. Our group decided to sell avocado shake. It was hard, especially in the first day, because our materials were incomplete or we didn't yet know what to use or how much to bring. On the second day, we added "arroz caldo" in the products to sell. And it was easier to sell than the avocado shake.

Our total profit was 140 pesos, and we gave the 30% of this to Aris, our classmate who had a vehicular accident.

But before this food festival, a nutri jingle contest was done, also sponsored by the TLE department, last July 13. And we joined the contest. We didn't win but we were still happy because we were able to join such contest.

My first blog (mylene) =>

1. What are the new learnings/discoveries that I have learned?
I just have learned what internet is. I have learned or discovered its history, or its progress, the services it offers, how does it work, how it is use and how important it is to us or how does it change our lives.

2. What are the problems that I have encountered?
I am not very familiar with the other features of the internet, because I'm only using this for searching about our projects, assignments or assigned works. So when we talked about this lectures, I wasn't able to cope up fast. Another problem I encountered was, I spend much time searching for something or for a given topic because it's hard to find the exact information I want to have.

3. How did I address these challenges?
I was able to solve my first problem, by asking my classmates the things I can't understand, and also by actively listening to the lessons we had. My second problem was solve when we had our lesson on how to search consuming lesser time and how to search for the informations or topics I want to have.

4. Moving on, I will...
Participate actively in the discussions, I will concentrate in learning the lessons, I will do the activities by heart, and I will try not to be a burden to ma'am.
